Reach Center

The Reach Community Church is a nondenominational church, designed to meet the spiritual needs of mankind. We believe in a triune GOD that lives in the form of FATHER, SON, AND THE HOLY SPIRIT, and who is responsible for the creation, and sustaining of LIFE. Although we are a member of the HCOC (Holy Communion of Churches) of Springfield Mass., we remain a independent church, under the direction of Bishop Kenneth Murray Sr.

“Let the churches stop trying to outstrip each other in the number of their adherents, the size of its sanctuary, the abundance of wealth. If we must compete, let us compete to see which can move toward the greatest attainment of truth, the greatest service of the poor…

Plight of two flags

After 400 plus years of oppression racism and the denial of the basic constitutional rights of the African-American. That is, “the unalienable right to pursue life, liberty, and happiness”, that is guaranteed by the Constitution. The above  flag represents the systematic system of racism that has pillage, stolen, and delayed the dream of so many African-Americans past and present. It is the Cancer of racism that has eaten away the rights of the African-American as demonstrated by the slow destruction of the American flag. It has deprived The African-American from the promise of the founding fathers, as the African American continues to hungers for a even playing field.
“We hold these truths to be self evident that all men are created equal, That they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights”....So it is with this truth, as a race of people we will not be denied, we will not be hushed up, We will not be turn back, Until the flag that represents all American is for every American, regardless of their color , their creed, or their culture,  so that all American will have the right To pursue the opportunities that are given to the whole of America, under the American flag. The life of the African-American citizen does have tremendous value.

“The civil rights movement was based on faith. Many of us who were participants in this movement saw our involvement as an extension of our faith. We saw ourselves doing the work of the Almighty. Segregation and racial discrimination were not in keeping with our faith, so we had to do something.”

Congressman John Lewis – (1940 A.D. to 2020 A.D.)

A life well lived: Bishop K. R. Murray

A drum major for justice is the summation of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg life. Not only was she a women of inspiration, she embodied the balance it takes to administer justice at it’s greatest level. She was a proven women. One who was courageous, insightful, compassionate, and full of wisdom. “Who can find a virtuous women? For her price is far above rubies.” Proverb 31:10. She was one of the greatest women of our time. Well done thy good and faithful servant. Rest In Peace….

It is with a heavy heart and deep concern for the Houston Police Department, and all law enforcement officers who serves our community, our state, and our nation in these challenging times, that we render these words of encouragement, and appreciation. On October 20th, 2020 Sargent Harold Preston a Servant Of the LORD made the ultimate sacrifice for this community he serves. Our prayers and thoughts are with the Preston family in this season of lost. We are so thankful for the Houston Police Department, Law Enforcement officers of every kind, who faces the potential of harm daily that we the citizens may enjoy the peacefulness of our freedom that come from their daily sacrifice and efforts to fight and destroy evil in the community at large. Rest In Peace Sargent Harold Preston, Servant of the Most HIGH.

Romans‬ ‭13:1-5‬ ‭AMP‬‬
“Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God [granted by His permission and sanction], and those which exist have been put in place by God. Therefore whoever resists [governmental] authority resists the ordinance of God. And those who have resisted it will bring judgment (civil penalty) on themselves. For [civil] authorities are not a source of fear for [people of] good behavior, but for [those who do] evil. Do you want to be unafraid of authority? Do what is good and you will receive approval and commendation. For he is God’s servant to you for good. But if you do wrong, [you should] be afraid; for he does not carry the [executioner’s] sword for nothing. He is God’s servant, an avenger who brings punishment on the wrongdoer. Therefore one must be subject [to civil authorities], not only to escape the punishment [that comes with wrongdoing], but also as a matter of principle [knowing what is right before God].”

JUNETEENTH MARKS AN INCREDIBLY IMPORTANT MOMENT IN U.S. HISTORY THAT YOU PROBABLY NEVER LEARNED

By Justin Chan

Though many attribute the end of slavery to President Abraham Lincoln’s issuance of the Emancipation Proclamation on January 1, 1863, the truth is that not every slave — especially those who lived in the Confederacy — was made entirely free by the decree.

Numerous Confederate loyalists refused to obey Lincoln’s executive order and continued to hold out, even well after General Robert E. Lee surrendered to the Union Army at Appomattox Court in Virginia in April 1865.

According to African American history scholar Henry Louis Gates Jr., slaveowners who had previously lived in Mississippi, Louisiana and other states decided to escape the Union’s reach by moving to Texas. In choosing to do so, they moved nearly 150,000 slaves, many of whom were unaware of Lincoln’s order. A number of slave masters, who had been aware of the proclamation, purposely chose to delay the news in an effort to maintain control, while others — including the Confederate mayor of Galveston — defied Lincoln’s proclamation by forcing free slaves back to work.

As Gates notes, the few slaves who eventually learned of their freedom acted on it at their own risks. Many were reportedly shot during their attempt to cross the Sabine River, which runs through Texas and Louisiana. It wasn’t until June 19 — two-and-a-half years after the Emancipation Proclamation — that General Gordon Granger, along with an army strong enough to combat the resistance, arrived to announce General Orders No. 3: “The people of Texas are informed that, in accordance with a proclamation from the Executive of the United States, all slaves are free.” Thus, the last of America’s slaves —  all 250,000 of them in Texas — were finally free.

JUNETEENTH, A NATIONAL HOLIDAY

Thursday, June 17, 2021, president Joe Biden signed into law a bill that recognizing Juneteenth as a national holiday for the free descendants of slaves. After 156 years African Americans in these United States of America can take pride in a day that recognizes the freedom that we all share in America. This is a landmark date and Holiday in the history of America. I would like to recognize and celebrate June 19, 2021 as the first national holiday for African-Americans and Americans all alike who can take pride in righting a two year wrong in our history as free citizens of this country. Let’s celebrate and never forget the price that was paid for the recognition for this day.

Congratulations to Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson, the first African American woman to be confirmed to the United States Supreme Court the highest court in the USA. Progress has been slow to come to the African American people in America. This appointment represents the perpetual change that is sure to come as we continue to press for change. It has been one generation since the death of the prophet, the preacher and the dreamer who wrote his indelible dream on the hearts and minds African American people. So it is with Great Pride that I congratulate the United State Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson on such a great accomplishment that should inspire all Americans to continue to strive to be the best citizen they can be. NATIONAL POLICE WEEK 2022

I’m deeply honored to participate in honoring and praying for the law enforcement officers of the United States of America. As we muse about the contribution that law enforcement brings to every community in this great country, it with great gratitude the we say thank you to the men and women who actively serve daily to keep order in our nation, and for risking their lives daily to keep us safe. The freedom that we experience as a nation is paid with the price that is  un-repayable, and comes from a special group of individuals whose sacrifices is unmeasurable in their commitment to enforce the law that allows every American to live and walk in the freedom the constitution provides. The Bible instructs us in Romans 13:1-2a. AMP. Let every person be subject to the governing authorities but there is no authority except from God (granted by his permission and sanction) and those which exist have been put in place by God. Therefore whoever resist (governmental) authority resist the ordinance of God.

So it is with great gratitude that we say thank you to those who daily stands on the wall putting themselves in harms way, between darkness and light, between evil and good, and between order and disorder, So that we may continue to live peacefully in our communities. So I pray. Lord keep our officers. Protect our officers. Bless our officers. Be with our officers and give them peace always. Give them wisdom and a quick understand As they continue to serve in communities all around these United States of America. Give peace to their love ones, as you continue to give them understanding and patience as their love ones sacrifice so much for this nation. Comfort them with your presence and let your joy always strengthen them as you bind them together with cords of love that cannot be broken. In the name of Jesus, Amen. To every law enforcement officer we salute you. We thank you. And we love you for the job that you do keeping us safe.
